I am a documentary photographer raised and trained in the Midwest region. As a photojournalist, I seek out stories that spark my curiosity and are character-driven. Always looking for an original story, I am more than willing to venture out of my comfort zone for a story. I look for stories about people I wouldn’t otherwise meet, or places I wouldn’t otherwise go. In the past, my curiosity has led me to a family continuing the legacy of a small-town grocery store to older adults finding “home” in senior living communities.
I have a friendly and quiet relationship with my subjects. This allows me to seamlessly blend into their worlds to capture their stories. I prioritize gaining the trust and confidence of the people I work with as they slowly let me into more and more parts of their lives. I enjoy working over longer spans of time to create a connection with my subjects and to wholly tell their story.
